Helston Flora Day. 8th May Originally a pagan festival that was banned in Victorian times for its drunken debauchery, this is the most spectacular and important day for Helston Town. A series of dances whirl through the decorated town. Stalls and fairground rides to entertain the whole family. The Pendennis cup. 26th – 31st June An impressive range of superyachts visit the waters of Falmouth Bay for four days of challenging racing. The best vantage point to watch the races is Pendennis Point. http://www.thependenniscup.co.uk/

Sea Shanty Festival. 13th – 15th June A personal favourite, a truly entertaining 3 day festival celebrating all things sea shanty! Enjoy a pint of Skinners ale (http://skinnersbrewery.com/) while listening to songs of the sea sung by men(mainly with beards) and women from all over the world 36 groups and over 20 venues (all with bars) make this the largest maritime music festival in the world. http://www.falmouthseashanty.co.uk/
Falmouth Classics Regatta. 13th – 15th June Watch over 150 classic yachts, dinghies and vintage boats as they are seen racing in the carrick roads and Falmouth bay. a parade of sail is scheduled for Saturday. http://falmouthclassics.org.uk/
Murdoch Day. 14th June A celebration of local inventor William Murdoch held in his home town of Redruth. Food, market stalls and an old time fair are all there to entertain the whole family.
Stithians Show. 14th July. The largest one day agricultural show in the world!! (that’s what my mum said) Held in a local historical village of significant importance ,Stithians this a must see local show. http://www.stithiansshow.org.uk/
R.N.A.S. Culdrose Air Day. 24th July (unconfirmed date) Flying demonstrations and all thing Naval are on the cards as Culdrose opens its doors for its annual flying festival.
Grand Joust at Pendennis castle. 29th – 30th July A magnificent medieval joust where fighting knights do battle in a live action show. Revel in the drama of clashing knights on horseback and cheer on your favourite.
Falmouth Week. 8th – 17th August. This Henri Lloyd sponsored event is the largest sailing regatta in the south west, It features a wealth of events both on and off the water. The atmosphere in Falmouth if fantastic and the evening Gig racing is a firm local favourite.
